Allison Warrell

I am a little person with achondroplasia dwarfism. I stand 3’11”. In 2008 at the age of 35, I realized I was overweight and putting undue stress on my petite frame. This potentially could lead to major surgeries, which are common among achondroplasia dwarfs. I knew I had to change my lifestyle. Joining the gym was step one. Walking into a gym can be overwhelming to anyone. Especially seeing equipment that is not made for someone my size.

Being confident and having a positive attitude, I knew I would defy the odds.  The traditional approach was definitely out of the question since my skeletal/muscular system is proportioned and arranged differently than the average person. My genes are such that I’m predisposed to excess body fat and a mild estrogen imbalance, and I have a normal torso with shortened limbs. I was determined. With proper training help, I devoted myself to becoming as fit as I could, and my efforts paid off as I dropped weight and body fat.

Encouragement and results drove me to become a certified personal trainer and sports nutritionist to help other little people transform their bodies. I have created one of the biggest support groups for Little People on Facebook called H.E.L.P.- Health and Exercise for Little People, which I moderate. I share all of my modifications and helpful information to other little people around the world.

I have figured out how to modify all of the gym equipment to adapt to my size and still be effective. This group has inspired many individuals that are now defying the odds. In 2016-2017, I had the opportunity to train and transform two very obese little people on a two-part docu-series called “Big & Little” on TLC. I provided the tools and knowledge of what I learned during my time with the two individuals, and my goal was to push them towards their health and fitness goals. I showed them how to overcome obstacles they would have never taken a chance on.

Currently, I am the shortest woman to compete in the NPC bodybuilding federation in the women’s physique division. I compete against average sized women, and we are all judged on the same criteria. As of today, I have competed ten times placing 1st place at the national level, along with an Overall in Women’s Physique- Muscle Contest California Night of Champions.

Born and raised in Texas, I now reside in the sunny state of Southern California. When I am not in the gym, I enjoy retail therapy, hanging out with friends and family, traveling, cooking, listening to live music, and living life to its fullest.

My favorite product is Glacier Punch Purpose - my staple pre-workout to get my mind right and get after it in the gym.
